Single Phase Solution
EH Series – 3.6-6 kW
The GoodWe EH Series is a single-phase, grid-tied inverter that includes a “Battery Ready” option for users who might wish to add a full energy storage solution in the future. By simply purchasing an activation code, the EH can easily be upgraded to a complete energy storage solution. The EH is compatible with high voltage batteries (85-460V) and can automatically switch to back-up mode in less than 10 milliseconds (UPS-level), ensuring that critical loads experience no interruption. With a power deviation lower than 20W, this inverter is designed to maximize self-consumption. In addition, the fact that it takes less than 9 seconds to switch from grid to PV, to supply power for heavy loads, helps users to avoid expensive intakes from the grid. The communication cables come pre-wired, reducing installation time significantly. The Plug & Play AC connector also makes operation and maintenance much more convenient. (source – Goodwe)
The inverter comes with a 10 year product and performance warranty and weighs 17 kg. The inverter comes in 3 different sizes, 3.6, 5.0 and 6.0 kW.
This inverter is compatible with the Goodwe Lynx Home F-Series, high voltage battery, but due to the voltage constraints, you must stick to 2-4 batteries only.
Battery | 2 | 3 | 4 |
---|---|---|---|
Usable Capacity (kWh) | 6.55 | 9.83 | 13.1 |
Weight (kg) | 115 | 158 | 201 |
Single Phase Solution
ES Series – 5 kW
The GoodWe ES series of bi-directional energy storage inverters can be used for both on-grid and off-grid PV systems, with the ability to control the flow of energy intelligently. During the day, the PV array generates electricity which can be provided either to the loads, fed into the grid, or charge the battery, depending on the economics and set-up. The electricity stored can be released when the loads require it during the night, including inductive loads such as air conditioners or refrigerators. Additionally, the power grid can also charge storage devices via the inverter. An all-round intelligent system for maximum energy flexibility. (source – Goodwe)
The inverter comes with a 10 year product and performance warranty and weighs 30 kg. The inverter comes in 2 sizes, 3.6 and 5.0 kW. There is also a 14Amp option, and that information can be found here. These inverters are compatible with a number of different battery options, the full list of them can be found here. We shall stick with talking about the same brand option.
Lynx Home U Series is a low-voltage lithium battery especially designed with superior performance for residential applications. The Lynx Home U Series uses the safest battery technology (LFP). It can be used flexibly for self-consumption and backup applications with a wide capacity range scalable from 5.4–32.4kWh. The installation and commissioning are easier and faster than ever with simple Plug and Play wiring and module auto recognition during system setup. The Lynx Home U Series is a highly efficient solution for storing and consuming your solar power. (source – Goodwe)
You can add up to 6 batteries in parallel, with a depth of discharge being 88.8%, this is what you can expect your usable capacity to be.
Battery | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Capacity | 5.4 | 10.8 | 16.2 | 21.6 | 27.0 | 32.4 |
Usable Capacity | 4.8 | 9.6 | 14.4 | 19.2 | 24.0 | 28.8 |
Three Phase Solution
ET Series – 5-10 kW
The GoodWe ET series is a Three-Phase, high-voltage, energy storage inverter that provides enhanced energy independence and maximises self-consumption for reduced electricity bills, through an export limit feature and time-of-use shifts. Covering a power range of 5 kW to 10 kW, the ET series allows up to 110% overloading to maximize power output and features Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) to critical loads, such as air conditioners or refrigerators within 10 milliseconds. With UPS-level switching, the ET can provide savings when connected to the grid, or off-grid independence and security when the grid is down. (Source – Goodwe)

Our Thoughts
A quality product, manufactured by a massive Chinese company with a strong trading history. We have worked extensively with Goodwe over the past 7 years, and they have been brilliant with us.
The Australian office allows for warranty issues to be catered for, even if your installation company disappears.
They will be a good choice by anyone, that will last the test of time and produce power for years to come. Great 10 year product and performance warranty on the batteries, and you can always extend the inverter up to 20 years if you wish on their website.
We would definitely, without a shadow of a doubt install them on our own house or business.
